【摘要】:Thistestmethodusuallyrequiresseveralminutespersample.ThistestmethodcoverseightelementsandthusprovidesmoreelementalcompositiondatathanTestMethodD4628orTestMethodsD4927.Inaddition,thistestmethodprovidesmoreaccurateresultsthanTestMethodD5185,whichisintendedforusedlubricatingoilsandbaseoils.Additivepackagesareblendsofindividualadditives,whichcanactasdetergents,antioxidants,antiwearagents,andsoforth.Manyadditivescontainoneormoreelementscoveredbythistestmethod.Additivepackagespecificationsarebased,inpart,onelementalcomposition.Lubricatingoilsaretypicallyblendsofadditivepackages,andtheirspecificationsarealsodetermined,inpart,byelementalcomposition.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtodetermineifadditivepackagesandunusedlubricatingoilsmeetspecificationswithrespecttoelementalcomposition.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthequantitativedeterminationofbarium,boron,calcium,copper,magnesium,molybdenum,phosphorus,sulfur,andzincinunusedlubricatingoilsandadditivepackages.1.2Theprecisionstatementsarevalidfordilutionsinwhichthemass%sampleinsolventisheldconstantintherangeof1to5mass%oil.1.3Theprecisiontablesdefinetheconcentrationrangescoveredintheinterlaboratorystudy.However,bothlowerandhigherconcentrationscanbedeterminedbythistestmethod.ThelowconcentrationlimitsaredependentonthesensitivityoftheICPinstrumentandthedilutionfactor.Thehighconcentrationlimitsaredeterminedbytheproductofthemaximumconcentrationdefinedbythelinearcalibrationcurveandthesampledilutionfactor.1.4Sulfurcanbedeterminediftheinstrumentcanoperateatawavelengthof180nm.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
