【摘要】:Thehightemperaturecapabilitiesofadvancedceramicsareakeyperformancebenefitformanydemandingengineeringapplications.Inmanyofthoseapplications,advancedceramicswillhavetoperformacrossabroadtemperaturerangewithexposuretosuddenchangesintemperatureandheatflux.Thermalshockresistanceoftheceramicmaterialisacriticalfactorindeterminingthedurabilityofthecomponentundertransientthermalconditions.Thistestmethodisusefulformaterialdevelopment,qualityassurance,characterization,andassessmentofdurability.Ithaslimitedvaluefordesigndatageneration,becauseofthelimitationsoftheflexuraltestgeometryindeterminingfundamentaltensileproperties.AppendixX1(followingEN820-3)providesanintroductiontothermalstresses,thermalshock,andcriticalmaterial/geometryfactors.Theappendixalsocontainsamathematicalanalysisofthestressesdevelopedbythermalexpansionundersteadystateandtransientconditions,asdeterminedbymechanicalproperties,thermalcharacteristics,andheattransfereffects.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthedeterminationoftheresistanceofadvancedceramicstothermalshockbywaterquenching.Themethodbuildsontheexperimentalprincipleofrapidquenchingofatestspecimenatanelevatedtemperatureinawaterbathatroomtemperature.Theeffectofthethermalshockisassessedbymeasuringthereductioninflexuralstrengthproducedbyrapidquenchingoftestspecimensheatedacrossarangeoftemperatures.Foraquantitativemeasurementofthermalshockresistance,acriticaltemperatureintervalisdeterminedbyareductioninthemeanflexuralstrengthofatleast30%.Thetestmethoddoesnotdeterminethermalstressesdevelopedasaresultofasteadystatetemperaturedifferenceswithinaceramicbodyorofthermalexpansionmismatchbetweenjoinedbodies.Thetestmethodisnotintendedtodeterminetheresistanceofaceramicmaterialtorepeatedshocks.Sincethedeterminationofthethermalshockresistanceisperformedbyevaluatingretainedstrength,themethodisnotsuitableforceramiccomponents;however,testspecimenscutfromcomponentsmaybeused.1.2Thetestmethodisintendedprimarilyfordensemonolithicceramics,butmayalsobeapplicabletocertaincompositessuchaswhisker-orparticulate-reinforcedceramicmatrixcompositesthataremacroscopicallyhomogeneous.1.3ValuesexpressedinthisstandardtestmethodareinaccordancewiththeInternationalSystemofUnits(SI)andStandardIEEE/ASTMSI10.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thistestmethodisapplicabletouraniummetal,uraniumoxidesandcompoundssolubleinnitricorsulfuricacid,anduraniumsolutionswhichcanbeconvertedtouraniumoxide(U3O8)inamufflefurnace.ItmaybeusedtodeterminetheimpuritiesinuraniumcompoundsaslistedinSpecificationsC753,C776,C788,andC967.1.1ThistestmethoddescribesthestepsnecessaryforthepreparationanddeterminationofimpuritymetalsinuraniummetalanduraniumcompoundsbyDCarcemissionspectroscopy.1.2Themethodisvalidforthosematerialsthatcanbedissolvedinacidand/orconvertedtoanoxideinamufflefurnace(seePracticeC1347).1.3Thismethodusesthecarrierdistillationtechniquetoselectivelycarrytheimpuritiesintothearc,leavingtheuraniumoxideintheelectrode.Ifitisnecessarytodeterminethecarriermetal(usuallyasilverorstrontium,orgalliumcompound)asanimpurity,anothertechniquemustbechosenforthatelement.1.4Units8212;ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operationsandequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
